Visit one of the Czech Republic’s most prominent architectural studios. Qarta Architektura invites you to explore its office in the historic Machine House building, which the studio itself sensitively restored. Located at the corner of Pernerova and Šaldova streets, this inspiring space has been home to the creation of many iconic projects that have shaped Czech cities and public spaces for more than 20 years. During the visit, you will have a unique opportunity to meet the architects, discover their working environment, and learn the story of a building that stood at the symbolic beginning of Karlín’s transformation.

In her practice, Natálie Pejchová primarily focuses on painting, although her work often extends into object-based and conceptual forms, continuously seeking to redefine the notion of the image. She explores the emotional topography of the city, fragmented memory, and the psychological echoes of visual culture. Her work examines the manipulation of emotions and the relationships between the individual and society, as well as the ways in which urban language, spiritual longing, and power structures are reflected in everyday rituals, symbols, and subconscious behavior. Her work has been presented at Galerie SPZ as part of a curatorial collaboration with Jiří Ptáček, as well as at Hidden Gallery and in the group exhibitions Čistý vzduch at Das Liga, CJCH Intervence #36 at State Castle Švihov, Domácí hosté at Municipal Gallery Týn nad Vltavou, and at Galerie NTK.

The surroundings are complemented by wild greenery, water features, and the artwork “Vista Mars” by Jiří Příhoda. Guided Tour of the Fragment Building

The residential project Fragment, designed by architects David Wittassek and Jiří Řezák from Qarta architektura, goes far beyond the boundaries of standard residential living. It is conceived as a distinctive work of art that shapes the everyday experience of its residents.The entire structure reflects a fragmented mass, with this formal language continuing into the interiors. As a result, Fragment becomes a unique residential project of applied art, redefining the concept of rental housing in the Czech Republic. The project also features work by artist David Černý, who created the figurative steel sculpture depicting the mythological figure Lilith. Through both its name and its architecture, Fragment connects past and present, the contemporary with the future, and art with everyday life.

The tour will also include a visit to Fragment Gallery, featuring a guided viewing of the photography exhibition A Fraction of a Second – The Best of the “Sport” Category from the prestigious Czech Press Photo 2021–2024, along with a glass of wine from the Dog in Dock winery.
