Vladimír Žák | Designer and Educator
The lecture will present the work and pedagogical activities of designer Vladimír Žák, who together with Roman Vrtiška leads the design studio Vrtiška & Žák as well as the Furniture and Interior Design Studio at UMPRUM. During the talk, he will introduce the studio’s approach, selected projects and experience from professional design practice, which both educators have long connected with teaching and mentoring students.

The lecture will present the work and pedagogical activities of designer Vladimír Žák, who together with Roman Vrtiška leads the design studio Vrtiška & Žák as well as the Furniture and Interior Design Studio at UMPRUM. During the talk, he will introduce the studio’s approach, selected projects and experience from professional design practice, which both educators have long connected with teaching and mentoring students.
The programme will also include a presentation of the Furniture and Interior Design Studio and its educational approach, based on close collaboration with industry partners and direct engagement with real-world practice. Visitors will learn more about the studio’s temporary home at Kasárna Karlín and about opportunities to study design at UMPRUM.
