Glass artist, designer and painter MgA. František Jungvirt studied glass painting at the Secondary School of Arts in Třeboň and graduated from the Glass Studio at Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM). Currently, he creates under his own eponymous brand františek jungvirt. In his work, he most often utilizes traditional references to Czech glassmaking, to which he gives new expression. With each piece, he strives to push the technical and visual possibilities of the field. Characteristic features of Jungvirt’s work include not only playing with shapes, but also with colors and hand-painted motifs. In addition to designing functional objects, he creates artistic objects, installations, and limited series in glass. His portfolio includes designer vases intended for everyday use as well as artistic objects full of imagination.
